Classes

Agility Beginnings (Wednesdays, 7 PM)This is an introductory level class to the increasingly popular dog sport of agility.  Emphasis is placed on learning the basic foundation skills needed for future performance and provide an introduction to agility equipment.  Although the class will primarily focus on American Kennel Club (AKC) style of agility, the basic foundation learned in this class will be applicable to all agility venues.  We will apply positive training methods and introduce equipment in a safe and slow manner so dogs learn agility skills with confidence and enthusiasm.  Instructor reminds students that agility should be FUN for dogs as well as handlers.  Dogs must have satisfactorily completed Beginning Obedience, or approval of instructor.  Completion of Focus Foundations is strongly encouraged.  9 week, 50 minute class -$90

Agility Handling – Connecting the Dots(Wednesdays, 8 PM) This is an intermediate level agility class, with emphasis placed on “connecting the dots” to navigate an agility course.  Handlers learn to analyze sequences of obstacles to find the best running line for the dog and how it is affected by the handler’s position and line of movement.  Dogs work on continued skills development and learn additional skills needed to successfully perform sequences of obstacles.  Classes will be divided by skill level of dog-handler teams in attendance, with progressively more advanced classes as needed.  6 week, 75 minute class-$65.
